1988 Suzuki GSX-R1100 (1127cc)

Sometimes a bike comes into the dealership that gets the whole place buzzing ( even the boss ) & this particular bike has well & truly taken the honors.

I’m going to need 5 minutes of your time because there’s simply so much to convey about this unique one off motorcycle, but if your serious about your bikes you’ll want to read every single word.

In a nutshell this incredible bike is a Barry Sheene Tribute Mid 80’s Endurance Racer ( fully registered for the road ) with striking custom paintwork.

The bike is registered as a 1988 Suzuki GSXR1100 but the only thing from that particular model is the frame, oil cooler & airbox.

The engine is from a 1996 Suzuki 1200 Bandit, as is the wiring, electrics & switch gear.

The Front & rear suspension, wheels, swinging arm & brakes are from a 2007 Suzuki GSXR750.

The front fairing is high quality fiberglass from Airtech.

The stock standard 1200 Bandit motor originally produced 100hp but as this bike is fitted with the much larger GSXR1100 airbox, the carbys have been re-jetted & the bike has now been estimated to produce around 115hp which is of course much less than the stock GSXR1100 motor at 143hp BUT what you end up with is a bike that produces an absurd amount of usable torque.

Couple that with the 2007 model GSXR750 suspension & brakes etc & I think you’re starting to get a feel for what this bike is really all about.

The bike rides absolutely beautifully, the riding position is comfortable & the geometry works perfectly, the bike has a really planted feel & will easily keep up with almost anything on the fast straights or the twisty switchbacks.

The bike is also fitted with a Brembo radial master cylinder & braided brake lines.
